I like this quick, understandable format. Simon Hill X’d about this study and I immediately thought, “I wish Nick would give us his take”. Thank you for making my wish come true.
Well, Simon was the one who emailed me the study and prompted me to comment. We get on quite well. I thought "citing" him up front would be a little "flexy" and might toss him under the bus with respect to his audience (maybe?) ... but credit where it's due. I like Simon. And on these data -- I'm not saying h. iron can't play a role... I just think these data have limitations worth considering. Personally, I'm not cutting steak out of my diet after reading this study. But that doesn't mean it lacks any value.
Thanks for the feedback Amy. I know you know the feeling of guilt of putting something relatively "low effort" out there... this kind of thing takes me 20 minutes and I think to myself... "Am I just diluting content?" ... But I suppose effort and value aren't great correlates... so I type-y type-y type-y -> post-y
I really like this type of content. I am doing a undergrad degree in nutrition so anything that helps me get to grips with methodology and evaluation of evidence is great. I really appreciate all the content that you put out thank you Nick.
No I haven't but I will do. My next summative assignments this semester are on modulation of stress on sleep using diet and lifestyle interventions and the same for insulin resistance.
Not going to lie being in my 40's never done a degree whilst also navigating a 2 year old demands is hard.
Getting used to writing academically, even how to construct a paragraph is hard.
This is why a appreciate all the work you do Nick along side like minded people who share thier knowledge. It is truly wonderful and a public service .
Never too late, and 40s is the new 20s ;). Although I can't comment on the difficulties of having a toddler, yet. But I imagine nothing can be more motivating than being a parent.

Thanks Nick! Always quick to respond and never disappoint. Your're the man (metabolic man)!

Thanks Jim! I like it, "metabolic man!"
Some of the best learning in science is explaining a study’s flaws, which you have done here- short and concise. Perfect. More of that, please!
Thanks for the feedback Henry. I'm glad.
This kind of content is great!

Quite happy with a quick considered comment - a variety of reading material is appreciated.
Good!
Excellent summation. Enough so that I can make an informed decision.
That's all I want :)!

I knew I liked you for a reason Nick , indeed 40's is the new 20's :-) I would like to think.
As someone on the fence re children I will say he is the best thing in my life and extremely motivating.
Appreciate your reply in what is an extremely busy life.
My pleasure. Replying on a plane using Delta in-flight WiFi. Appreciate the distraction from the smell of Chex Mix. I definitely want kids.
Sorry, I meant I was on the fence.
The best job in the world and husband agrees.
Enjoy your flight.
I am enjoying and loving this crazy ride of studying. I will stay curious.
Now I need to get ready for my RVN night shift in ECC hospital. Gotta pay the bills.
I like these quick bite-sized reviews.
Thanks Jan... hope you love the one from today too... back to back papers... back to back responses ;)
Nick I appreciate the straight to the point format
Please do more of this kind of content. Thanks
This is a great opportunity to take in a helpful overview of a topic. Loved this!
