A popular brand of electrolytes, LMNT, what just "exposed" for containing Maltodextrin, a high glycemic index sugar. Is this a true Scandal, or just Hype? Let's Dig In...
Thanks, Nick! I appreciate you taking the time to put this out there. Been getting a lot of questions about this, and I have my own thoughts on the matter but will definitely share this link as well. Very helpful. ✅
Your video was excellent. The LMNT scandal so to speak has been weighing heavy on my mind. I follow the advise of many who support LMNT (doctors included) but have been concerned as I use my LMNT products. I was glad to see they responded right back to you and their response was adequate. The quanity and the analogy used with your cheesecake example put the amounds into perspective. The last line led me to believe that they are going to work on reformulating their LMNT. In the meantime, I will use up my new box that I recently purchased and then try another brand FLAV CITY that has no hidden ingredients. Then it is a waiting game for LMNT to step it up to bring back their formal loyal followers.
I'm 78 female, have been mixing my own electrolyte version in water for years with the materials available in my grocery store (original Calm, No-Salt, and Redmonds ancient salt, to taste). But I like to flavor it with just an eighth teaspoon of LMNT Citrus or Grapefruit. Often I perceive this as too much flavor, and sometimes I do not bother to flavor it. So an order of a box of LMNT lasts me a long, long time, somewhat making up for the $45 price tag. But when I learned from Dr. Boz about the maltodextrin, I felt angry and deeply betrayed. Like any modern keto experimenter, I knew I had been duped by the selling phrase "Everything you need, nothing you don't". LMNT LIED to me. And I took the bait, hook, line and sinker. I'll still order LMNT, but this article and that one with Dr. Ken D. Berry have helped reinstate a bit of truth into the matter. LMNT you fell hard, but you can get up and help us in our endeavor to drink the water we need with the electrolytes replacing those we lose.
My wife discovered she was type 1 diabetic a couple years ago and turned to LMNT for hydration. Her doctors couldn't understand why her glucose went on a roller coaster when she wasn't eating very many carbs and no sugar. When she heard about this scandal and stopped using LMNT, the glucose roller coaster STOPPED....

I used LMNT in the past but I stopped 'cause it was and is not available in italy ... form me it was ok!
I dislike lack of clear and open information around what I put on me and inside me... I agree with your thoughts
Thanks Ilaria

Thanks. If you're looking for a brand with a different flavor carrier, KetoChow Salt is pretty good and has no Maltodextrin: https://www.ketochow.xyz/collections/all-electrolytes. They use acacia gum.
Sorry for the typos..... Quantity and amounts (The teacher in me could not let it slide).

I hear your frustration Alice. Did you watch my conversation with Robb Wolf and Ken Berry? It might offer some insights...
How can I receive a refund for the unused product I have?
No clue. You could ask.

Sorry about your wife. Hope she's okay and stays stable. If LMNT was causing the spikes, that's awful.
