As a former GLP-1 plus 9 other meds to manage my diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, thyroid, depression, I can attest that being OFF all those meds and embracing carnivore, IR therapy, grounding, mindfulness - I FEEL much healthier. And having a CoP where I can share my wins and falls and ask questions is a key component to my continued success. Thanks for sharing this Dr. Norwitz!

Thank you! A great read and you absolutely confirm what is needed for people to succeed! I teach clients that are overwhelmed with diet and lifestyle to take it one thing at a time and support them in making this a lifestyle!

Has someone who has lost 40lbs following Dr. Westman’s page 4 protocol, it’s been life changing. Weight falls off, appetite reduced, energy boosted, joint pain gone, and brain fog gone! But also I finally feel in control and freedom from food for the first time in my life. Empowering to know I made that change, not an injection. So not only do you get the weight loss without the high cost of drugs, you get your self confidence back too. I needed support thru this as well. I also joined an online keto support group, Go Keto with Casey, and it has been the secret sauce for navigating low carb in a world of sugar and starch. Support is key.

A program like this should be offered through insurance companies, at schools, places of business. A business would get more bang for their buck than offering gym memberships because of the overall savings. Instead of subsidizing Ozempic or other drugs, this should be subsidized. I know the healthcare industry makes money off of us being sick. If only it made money by keeping us well. The pharmaceutical industry would not be happy.

Can you read Michael Eades ( author of Protein Power) bit at the end of this newsletter - it has the heading My Ketogenic Experiment- as this summarises what a lot of us in the LMHR Facebook group are experiencing. Our blood glucose levels are uncomfortably high all day, with high HbA1c, and we only produce low level ketones. In my case I have plenty of subcutaneous fat that should supply them without me eating excess fat - which makes me fatter.

We’d all appreciate a few more brains on this topic of whether all the extra protein we’re guzzling is giving us high glucoses which might be brewing dementia. At the very end of the newsletter he asks you to click on a star rating - if you do that it takes you to a separate page where there is a comment box, where you leave a private comment. Alternatively you can just click in the comments section.

Thanks!

Yes, exactly! The degree of atherosclerosis is unknown, but…

Think about nattokinase and K2? Might have to be a bit careful, though, if on antiplatelet/anticoagulant.
