A couple of months ago, I started injecting myself with a strange little blue peptide formulation called the KLOW Stack.
Technically, it’s not one peptide but four, each targeting different aspects of healing and recovery. Together, they’re designed to work synergistically and, at least in theory, accelerate the body’s ability to repair itself.
I’ve already noticed some encouraging changes.
In particular, one involves an injury I’ve been dealing with for more than a decade: damage to my right knee sustained after a series of fractures and surgeries. Ever since, running has been difficult. Even short jogs often leave the knee swollen and the surrounding scar tissue inflamed.
But recently, for the first time in years, I’ve been able to run without the usual aftermath.
Now, that’s an anecdote. But absence of definitive proof is not the same thing as absence of promise.
So today, I want to walk through:
What the KLOW Stack is
Why people are excited about it
What we know about each of its components
What the future of healing and recovery might look like
I’ll also spend some time discussing broader questions:
Why am I willing to experiment with compounds that lack FDA approval?
And how do we balance the risks of adopting a treatment too early against the risks of ignoring something potentially valuable for decades while waiting for perfect evidence?
Because ultimately, the conversation isn’t just about peptides. It’s about how we navigate uncertainty in medicine itself.
In the rest of this letter for StayCurious Metabolism premium members, we’re going to unpack all of the topics and questions raised above.
Think of it as a one-stop shop for understanding recovery peptides, and as well as how to think about the broader questions of risk, benefit, and decision-making in emerging areas of medicine.
I’ll also share an exciting announcement for the premium community. Thanks to the generosity of one of our partners, at least 100 members will receive a complimentary month of concierge peptide medical care, a benefit worth roughly $500–$1,000.
This offer will also be available to new premium members. So, if you’ve been considering joining, now is a particularly good time. Come be part of one of Substack’s fastest-growing science communities and see for yourself what makes it so special.
