Another great video Nick! I totally understand what you are doing to garner attention to groundbreaking research. Please keep up the great work and continue to include the nuance which I thoroughly enjoy!

I'm sure you have a million ideas for further research and/or videos, but I have another one to offer. Can a study or video be done on people on a low carb (<50) high fat ketogenic diet who are reversing Type 2 diabetes , but also have a very high CAC score (>400)?

I think what I can say is that while the data are at this early stage, were I in a compromised position with respect to my cardiac health (thankfully, not the case) as demonstrated by functional testing, incl a CAC of >400... I would take extra measures to reduce my risk, including ApoB reduction with pharmacotherapy. That would be my likely personal choice.

I get what you’re trying to do with these videos and it seems to be working, so kudos! To be honest, I’ve been skipping this video even though it’s been popping up all over my feed. I thought I knew what you were going to do. Once I watched it I found out some new relevant information. It was really interesting to learn that in your case, at least, increasing carbs to about 60 g does not have the same effect that increasing carbs to 100 g does, as far as reducing LDL levels, but it has an effect. This is something I’ve been wandering myself since I’m not comfortable going up to 100 g of carbs. Anyway, I found you through the study of the lean hyper responders, not through the video with the Oreo cookies experiment. But I can see you are reaching a bigger audience with the Oreos and the eggs experiments. It’s hard to argue with that!! even I end up clicking on the egg video because it was impossible to avoid. It kept popping all over my feed and I finally gave in and watched. Mission accomplished 😉

Thanks! I think you see my bigger game plan... or at least have a glimpse of it... much more to come!

Great interview with Dr. Scher, too, both you and Dave. Listed to that on my commute this morning :).

I'm not brightest bulb, but isn't it AMPK (adenosine monophosphate protein kinase, referring to 'AMPK-MNK-eIF4EOr'), or is APMK something else? Not trying to be pedantic, especially if it's only a typo, just really attempting to dot my i's and cross my t's when it comes to this stuff, and you are a fantastic resource.

Thanks. Bret is always a great host. And, yes, same AMPK. New data showing fatty acids bind to and activate AMPK directly to stimulate down stream increase in fat burning enzymes in the liver.

Nick,

How familiar are you with Keifer's Carb Nite Solution and Carb Backloading protocol?

It's seems you both are on the same page. Looking forward to more.

Hi Nick, I looked for your contact, but could not find an email so figured Id post here. I am curious about something regarding the keto diet; my question about keto seems ideal for someone with an inquisitive mind like yours. I tried keto and it did not work for me, I was extremely low on energy each time I tried it. After a little research I read it could be related to either my low thyroid, or the fact that I take zoloft. I read for some reason people with hypothyroidism or people taking zoloft cannot convert ketones to energy as well as other people. Wild, eh? If you end up looking into the reason, I'll be sure to watch your video and spread your channel. Thanks for your inspiring work, keep it up and Thanks! Jake.
